Futuretherm Shortlisted for 'Best Building Fabric Product'

House Builder Product Awards Shortlisted

Keylite Roof Windows are delighted to announce that our Futuretherm Roof Window has been shortlisted as one of the finalists for ‘Best Building Fabric Product’ at the House Builder Product Awards 2014.

The ground breaking feature of the new Futuretherm window is the Integrated Thermal Collar, which comes pre-fitted to the window frame. This is offered as standard across the range at no extra cost. The integrated thermal collar feature ensures that the roof window can be installed without any need for secondary components; not only does this mean faster on-site installation, it also means that every Keylite roof window is guaranteed to have insulation around the frame, in the form of a thermal collar. The latter point is critical, as the integrated thermal collar now provides a cost neutral solution to the industry wide problem of reducing heat loss at junctions between the roof window and the roof structure.

SAP/energy assessors are seeing huge benefits where the Keylite Futuretherm roof window is specified. The introduction of new Part L Building Regulations in April 2014 now consider linear thermal heat loss around junctions in the fabric of buildings (including roof windows). The Keylite Futuretherm Integrated thermal collar tackles the problem which exists with every roof window installation, in that every installation requires a minimum 20mm space to be left around the perimeter of the window frame, between the roof window and the roof structure; if this space is not insulated, significant heat loss will result.

The House Builder Product Awards 2014 will take place at Edgbaston Stadium, Birmingham on 2nd July.
